DOLPHINS DOWN!
Many apologies for the downtime on our surfbar on Monday. I must admit
I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to fix it. I'm no
techie and Jason was out like a log after working till 6am the previous night.
Still, the dolphins came back out to play eventually!
I hope you took advantage of the special bonuses we gave for surfing
the next day and if you missed out on that then keep reading this
newsletter to discover how surfing this weekend will give you extra
benefits!
Thanks again for all your kind messages during our downtime,
and thanks to Brett Phillips and William Brant for their help
too.
IS ALEXA USEFUL?
Well,
my answer is Yes! OK, so 100% accuracy is not exactly assured and
traffic exchanges are heavily penalised as the Alexa toolbar doesn't
work in Firefox, but no system is perfect and Alexa is still a
useful guideline of a sites
popularity. So, just out of curiosity I looked at our Alexa rankings
this morning. Two things struck me:
1. Traffic-Splash is now ranked at 13,504 (1 week average 19,919)
This means we've increased our ranking by 208,344 in the last 90 days
and Alexa now ranks us well inside the top 20 exchanges online. In just
6 short weeks!
2. Our average page views per user is actually down 5% from 30.5 pages,
to 20.1 pages. So, overall, far more people are surfing a little less
per visit.
So nice numbers,
but what does that actually mean for you? Well, both
figures indicate that your advertising is reaching a much wider and,
according to reports from members (and my own tracking) a far more
responsive market than before.
THAT OLD CHESTNUT AGAIN?
This question has been asked so so often that even I'm a little bored
with it but here's some fresh info to stir up the pot a little
bit....
The question - Do Traffic Exchanges Really Work?
And I bet you can guess my answer, right? Well, consider this...
The Traffic-Splash dolphins were released on
Christmas Eve. We deliberately didn't ask for JV partners, I have
deliberately held off networking the biz too strongly, we've not yet
run any referral contests or approached any DownlineBuilders and not
one single mailing has left my desk. So, how come 705 people have
joined Traffic-Splash in the last six weeks?
Simple really, so far we've advertised in Traffic Exchanges, and only in Traffic Exchanges.
So, that's 705 new members in 6 weeks with no hype, no fanfares, just solid Traffic Exchange advertising.
As I said to my mentor, Mr Olson, just before 'launch'. It will be
interesting to see how a stealth launch works (for me anyway, I know he
knew the answer!)
And still there are people that insist that traffic exchanges don't work. Hmmm.....
SURF REWARDS
I
doubt this will surprise any of you, but we
can afford to give you another weekend bonus! If you keep increasing
your surf during the week, we will keep saying thank you at the weekend.
Surf
ratios were adjusted several hours ago so most of your Saturday surf
and all of your Sunday surf will be at the following ratios:
Free members get 3:2
that means for every three sites you view, somebody
will view yours two times.
Pro members get 2:3
that means for every two sites you view, somebody
will view yours three times.
And a reminder of our daily surf rewards too:
Surf 100 pages in one day to claim 1,000 text links
Surf 250 pages in one day to claim 4,000 text links
Surf 500 pages in one day to claim 100+ hits in the
startpage rotator
Surf 750 pages in one day to claim 4,000 text links
and 100+ hits in the startpage rotator.
All you need to do to claim your reward is send in a
support ticket.
REFERRAL
REWARDS
Do you
like the sound of 50% commissions on upgrades, 10%
on credit purchases and 5% credits every time your
referrals surf?
Would you also like 20,000 ad impressions?
This week Jason and I will be mostly surfing DragonSurf, TrafficRoundUp, ILoveHits, AllNetSurf (Michael Kelly's new exchange) and JackTenForty.
We will be looking
to see which members are promoting Traffic-Splash and if we
spot your splash in one of these exchanges you could win those banners
and text ads next week!
Congratulations to dandeone as I spotted your splash this week. 20,000 banners/text ads are on the way to
you and I have to say that I love that stars and stripes hat in your photo David. That's what I call good branding!

TRAFFIC TRIVIA
Congratulations to everybody who won SplashPoints
last week. I'll be mailing you individually later so please be patient
with me. It's my nephews birthday today so I've got to dash as soon as
I've written this newsletter!
This week we're back to normal (if there is such a thing for a 6
week old biz!) and the first three members to give the correct answer
will each win 100 credits.
So, the very-specific question (for my friend Wayne!) is....
What was Traffic-Splash's Alexa ranking 90 days ago?
All you have to do to win is post your answer in our Support Forum
Please make sure to post your Traffic-Splash username so I can transfer the credits to you. thank you, and good luck.
AND THE SCORES ON THE DOORS ARE?
Nowadays I really look forward to Monday mornings because that's when I login to R&MBizBuilder to see how surfers have ranked their most popular traffic exchanges.
It was fantastic this week to see that Traffic-Splash is ranked as high
as number four. This means more to me than any other ranking because it's
voted for by you guys. Thanks to all who voted!
By the way, if you're not a Brit, you might be wondering why I
mentioned "scores on the doors" It's one of many catchphrases the
legendary
entertainer Bruce Forsyth uses. Good game, good game!
And now I'm rambling. My nephew awaits!
Thanks once again for all your
support. It is truly appreciated.
I'm looking forward to a great weekend. I hope yours
is as good as mine, and have a great week.
Happy Splashing!
