HELLO
FELLOW SPLASHERS
Welcome
to Splash News 27. August has been great, madly hectic, when
does the Summer slowdown start? lol
The
Rash Referrral Rush has been going great guns and surfing
activity just keeps on growing. Hit
Exchange News ranks us at number 3 this
week,
Traffic Hoopla ranks us at
7 (our best yet) and Traffic Exchange List ranks us at 3 (this is a new
ranking system - more details below)
There
are now 8,842
of us Splashing around and I'd like to
give an especially wet and sloppy welcome to the 859 new Splashers
who
have joined since the last newsletter. I hope you get great
results from your ads and I hope you enjoy splashing as much as I am!
RASH
REFERRAL RUSH
Another giveaway eh? Bring in
two referrals, get a third referral free. Four more days to
go. Get your referral head on and you could win free referrals
too!
I
tested a new splash and it has been converting really well for me.
So, I'm making it available just to newsletter readers too.
All you need to do is add your username at the end to make it work for
you. http://www.traffic-splash.com/refrush.php?referer=
Regular
safelist users may well
recognise that ad. Plenty of you have joined from my HTML ads. It works
really well so feel free to copy the source code for your own HTML ads
in safelists if you wish.
MORE

the Traffic Hoopla top 40 already last
week and is now at number 32. Fast Easy Traffic is running a 2

this, but it is just for today. You gotta be fast at Fasy
Easy!
We're
also giving double
credits on the
bonus
page
today AND each time we break the record for pages surfed in a day we'll
raise
that to TRIPLE credits for the next day! Check it out here.
TRAFFIC-SPLASH
- TESTED FOR EXCELLENCE
KEVIN
ANDERSON
On
Saturday August 11 Kevin Anderson passed away. He will be missed by
many. Kevin was innovative and original, a true
leader in the wonderful world of traffic exchanges and far
beyond. Amongst other things Kevin was the founder of
Cognigen, Ultimate Rep and Leisure Audio Books, helping numerous people
build their home-based businesses.
I was
honored to work with Kevin these last few months and thankful for his
help promoting traffic-splash and traffic exchanges in general. My
thoughts are with his friends and family.
NEW
SURFING LOGOUT PAGE
To
accompany the new surf rewards we have introduced something
I've
never seen in any exchange before. It's probably been done sometime,
cos everything has. I'll ask Jon Olson or Rich Taylor
of SplashPoints
next time I see them. They'll know for sure, but anyway, I saw
somebody recommending that it's best to surf 10
pages a
day at Traffic-Splash. What a load of smelly brown stuff! At very very
least I'd have said to do 15 pages to hit the first bonus and
now
of course I'd say 30 pages is the absolute bare minimum to maximise
your effort.
Then
I got to thinking, that's my fault. Nobody would suggest a 10 page surf
if I had informed the customers well enough. Ok, I know it's
all
posted in Members Home and it's pretty hard to miss but still,
you
can't expect everybody to read that, human nature.
So
how can I help you to help yourselves more?
Well,
every
time you logout you will see something like this. In
theory, it should help you to maximise your own efforts, it will
really help newbies and if you're a referrer, then you should
earn a
few more credits when your team surfs a little more. Win, win, win I
think. Like
it? Let me know below ....
SURVEYS
Here's
the current survey: Do you like the new surfing logout page?
Simple
answers
YES or
NO
Please
vote here. Oh, btw if you surf in IE
you won't see this page. Sorry, technical difficulties mean it doesn't
show. The vast majority surf in Firefox these days so at least most of
your team will benefit.
SURF REWARDS
I am absolutely certain that
one of the greatest contributors to the rapid growth of Traffic-Splash
has been our Surf Rewards. I clicked my little finger off and read
every TE Newsletter going for months before buying Traffic-Splash and I
regularly saw TE owners mention that they
hadn't enough banners and texts in rotation. So, I thought I'd
make them more available and Surf Rewards were born.
Here
at Traffic-Splash we never have a lack of text or banner ads, but I can
see that many of you just let them build up in your account and
don't take advantage of them. Read this testimonial
from Su Ryan, one of the most experienced and
successful surfers I know, are you missing out?
........
We are all told repeatedly that
text and banner ads are for branding so don't expect anything more, and
that has been my experience in every exchange - until I started running
them in Traffic-Splash. Since I track each banner and text ad
separately I was pleasantly surprised to see that several of my recent
sign-ups were from my "branding" ads in Traffic-Splash.
As if that
weren't good enough, the best part is that those banner and text ad
credits don't cost me a dime. Zip. Nada. Didn't even have to convert
traffic credits. They're all free surf rewards.
It just
doesn't get any better than that - but I'm sure Paul still has more
goodies up his sleeve.
Su
Ryan, UltimateRep
I
think the wide variety of texts and banner ads in rotation
here is
part of why Su and others are experiencing success. So,
have you assigned your banner and text impressions?
LET'S TALK ABOUT TEXT
I love text ads and Su's testimonial prompted me to have a little
think. Text ads are a great opportunity for personal branding,
you can be a little rude or shocking, you can be
funny. The more creative, the better. I love looking at text
ads while I'm Splashing.
So,
each week I'm going to award somebody 5,000 free text ads for the link
I like the most that week. You have 26 characters to inspire, amuse,
shock, or if you must, just plain sell. If I see it and I like it you
could win
5,000 free impressions and a free link in Splash News.
This
week's winner is vandrews for Don't
Tunnel, Just Funnel!
Congratulations
Vince, 5,000 text ads have just been added to your account.
SPLASH

I track
all my ads using Hits Connect so I can tell that
these exchanges have resulted in the most signups to
Traffic-Splash
from my
personal advertising. You may get different results but you probably
won't go far wrong with these ....

3. DragonSurf
4.

FREE
GIFT
I
expect most of you have noticed that there is a free gift available
when you login. I had planned to offer different free gifts regularly
but that one gift is soooo valuable to traffic exchange users that I've
kept it the same for months. However, this week I was asked:
"Why does it say it's free when it costs $10 a month?? Don't you check
these out first before displaying them??"
My reply: Hi
Joseph, of course I check them. I use everything I promote myself. The
report is free.
It is
VITAL that traffic exchange users learn and understand how to use
splash pages or they WILL fail.
70% of
traffic exchange users still don't use splash pages. I want to see that
number fall because I want more of my customers to succeed and
therefore stay with me for the long term.
So a
free report on splash pages is very very much in my members interests.
Some will then take on full membership of SPM, some won't but at least
they will be more aware of what it takes to succeed. That's the
important thing.
Best of
luck with your ads
Paul
So, are you one of the 70% who are dooming themselves to long term
failure? If you don't understand splash pages please click below and
take a read. If you've any questions at all I am more than happy to
help. Please just ask.
TRAFFIC
EXCHANGE LIST
Traffic Exchange List was
one of the first Downline Builders that I joined when I started using
traffic exchanges but along with almost everybody else I've not been
active with it at all. It is VERY undermarketed. However, owner Tim
Linden started a new system of ranking traffic exchanges a few weeks
ago that I find very interesting and valuable.
I'll
let Tim explain in his own words .....
I am now collecting
statistical data on
the reach of a traffic exchange. By reach, I mean what percentage of
traffic exchange users as a whole does a particular exchange have.
This information is
quite useful.. If you want to broaden the
people you are advertising to, advertise more on an exchange with a
greater reach.
The information is
freely available on Traffic
Exchange List, and is included in the weekly
reports.
What this
doesn’t tell you is who is at what exchanges. For
instance, if there are two exchanges with 10% reach it won’t
tell you
if that is the same 10% of the people, or if each 10% is totally
different people. That would be interesting to see and saved for a
later day =P
By no means am I suggesting
this data is any less imperfect than other ranking systems but I like
to compare rankings from various sources to give me an overview of
which exchanges are the most active. Then I use Hits Connect to track my own
advertising and help me decide where to spend more time and
money.
WHEN WE
ALL DO BETTER
I
caught this article by JL Scott of iCop a couple of weeks ago.
iCop is an excellent free newsletter for people doing business
online and this article sums how I feel business should be done. I hope
it does for you too .......
Here's
something to think about ... “When we all do better, we all
do better.”
I read that in an article last week, but the article is too long to
reprint and it goes too far away from the online business we're
interested in.
However, that statement stuck in my head. For instance, when all iCop
members give away our Desktop Directory, everyone benefits - we all do
better!
When iCop members are successful, iCop benefits. When iCop is
successful, our members benefit. The thing is, we too seldom seem to
think along those lines, anymore.
Online marketing would benefit from online marketers doing more to HELP
each other, rather than playing the “Greater God”
game. I remember when we all first started. Folks, there was a LOT of
helping going on - and not at a cost.
The word is, even most of the seminars have become nothing but giant
sales pitches. Pay your hard-earned money to buy something else! And, I
know, because I've been told, that even when they actually teach, many
of these "teachers" leave things out. How much help is that?
On the other side of the same stick, I've also noticed a severe lack of
gratitude, lately. Ya know - you gotta be grateful for stuff to get
more stuff.
Again, we used to be very vocal about being thankful for the help we
received. It's part of what built our relationships. And, you can't
build - or sustain - a business without relationships.
Awhile back, I took the time to send our subscribers an extra email
containing two links for two publications on building lists. Free -
just because. It was good information. I know it was downloaded a
bazillion times.
Yet, I got one complaint and ZERO thank yous. Now, I don't expect thank
yous from iCop members. Free stuff is part of their membership. And,
now I know not to expect it from free subscribers.
I'm not even exactly whining about it. It's just that it brought home
to me how far we've moved from the helping attitudes online business
was built on. Sad.
I truly believe that the helping mentality is what launched internet
marketing into a recognized industry. We made friends and both helped
and were helped by those friends. We communicated with each other. We
laughed at ourselves. We played and had FUN.
I also believe that the one-ups-man-ship - dog-eat-dog attitudes - half
truths and outright lies we are seeing way too much of now, just may be
what eventually kills it.
So, do YOURSELF a favor and think about it. Who have you helped lately?
What have you given - just because? Even if they don't say, "Thank
you!"
It's a FACT: “When we all do better, we all do
better.”
