Hello fellow Splashers. I hope your weekend was as good as mine. I picked up some more golden nuggets from Robert Puddy and had a good time too apart from the nightmare journey home. I have loads of more interesting stuff to tell you about instead of that though! lol

So, the full first prize did go. Many congratulations to all our top referrers and thanks to everybody who contributed.

Now we celebrate Earth Day by teaming up with Surf4TheEarth and TrafficPlanets for a new referral contest. This contest runs right through to May 27 and the top ten referrers will all win prizes.

I've got a cunning plan up my sleeve which could really help those of you who take advantage of it. I'll tell you more about it on Friday. Watch this space....

TOP TIPS

No links here, just advice.

If you haven't heard about splash pages yet, I can guarantee you're not getting the results you should be from traffic exchanges. These pages are fast-loading and grab the surfers attention. Almost every traffic exchange owner uses them and recommends them. If these are the most successful pages, which are the least successful? I'd guess they must be slow loading and do nothing to grab instant attention.

I imagine that THE least effective pages you can possibly use are those that forceload video because they load waaaay tooooo sloooowly and while they're loading the surfer is left looking at a blank screen. In addition, you will probably antagonise 35% or so of users that still surf on dialup because you'll freeze their screen. So, force loading video? good move? bad move? Well I wouldn't waste my credits using it but I'm not a censor. Your call.

One thing that is very definitely an incredibly bad move - using Adsense sites on traffic exchanges. Google has finally stated publicy what has been known for a long time now. You WILL lose your Adsense account if they catch you advertising on traffic exchanges. We will remove any adsense site we see but please, don't risk it!

OK, so I was a little premature when I thanked Armi a few weeks ago for all she'd done. She then carried on for a few weeks to help out after Jason disappeared again.
