The Unwritten Secret of Traffic Exchanges! May 24, 2007

Posted by paul in : Secrets , 2comments

I have been patiently waiting for my copy of Jon Olson’s new book “Hits, Clicks and Misses” to make it’s way over the Atlantic and it finally got here.

I read the whole thing in one sitting, and I’m already re-reading. This book is so easy to read and is packed solid with good advice about building an online business, whether you use traffic exchanges or not. Of course, if you do use traffic exchanges you’ll find it a little more useful :)

One thing that really struck me, reading articles that Jon wrote years ago, is that he has been giving pretty much the same message for several years now. Some terminology may have changed but the base message has remained the same. Promote YOU!

So, if possibly the most successful owner in traffic exchange history has been pounding out this message for years then why are roughly 70% of all pages surfed still showing as standard affiliate pages. They do not work - it is madness, madness, madness to keep on surfing exchanges if you are using affiliate pages. You will not get a valuable return for your effort.

If you’ve been surfing for any length of time you will know about splash pages but if you are new this page will explain here.

What you may not realise is that there is something that works even better than splashes, and it was the ‘unwritten secret’ of traffic exchanges for years. Until now!

Squeeze pages are fairly similar to splashes but in addition to fast-loading, good graphics etc squeezes capture email addresses rather than asking people to click thru to your site.

Are you seeing the benefit yet? Squeeze pages build YOUR list rather than a program owners. You then recommend your favorite programs by sending emails to your list. So, if asomeone takes action from your splash, they just join you in one program, but if they take action from a squeeze page, you can recommend 10, 20, 50 + programs if you wish, all in separate emails.

As if that wasn’t enough benefit then here’s a little shocker - squeeze pages also convert even better than splash pages. Oh, and some squeeze pages contain giveaway products. These convert even better!

So, why was this an “unwritten secret” until today? Well, those who attend traffic exchange seminars will have heard the message repeatedly, it was a bonus for putting in the effort but now…..

A free program has appeared that allows to create great squeeze pages, with good giveaways, and free hosting too.

Oh, and did I say it was free? Joining seems a no-brainer to me…

PS nearly forgot, there is an upgrade offer inside. It’s designed to make a REAL difference to your business. If you are looking to make serious money online then I strongly recommend you look long and hard at this offer.  And maybe even buy it! lol

Such A Savvy Game! May 10, 2007

I’ve been beta testing a new traffic exchange game recently, it’s addictive and I love it!

This is a memory game. It’s simple stuff, all you do is match pairs of cards by turning them over. We’ve all played it when we were kids, and maybe a little older too :)

The twist here is that you race against a timer. The faster you go, the more credits you earn. You can also set it to higher levels which earns you a higher score and there is a leaderboard so you race against other members to win extra prizes. 1,000 credits is up for grabs for this month’s winnner.

Sound interesting? Wanna play? I’m currently just 15th on the leaderboard. I hope you can beat me! Check it out at Savvy Clicks

Top ten. Surf’s Up! May 9, 2007

Good News. Traffic-Splash is rated at number eight in this week’s Traffic Hoopla listing. Hoopla is THE unbiased ranking service for the traffic exchange industry. To be rated so highly so quickly is indeed a great honour and a tribute to our wonderful members. Thank you Splashers, your surfing got us there so please keep on doing just what you’re doing! I hope you took advantage of the increased surf ratios last night :)

I was also very pleased to see Hit2Hit debut with Hoopla at number 29. I’ve never really understood why Hit2Hit doesn’t receive more widespread recognition within the TE industry. Francisca is an efficient and friendly admin and her exchange has grown to over 10,000 active members in little more than 18 months. I always get good resuts there. So good service, fast quality traffic. Well worth a look I think.

Well, another quiet month on my blog. Sorry! All that negativity really deflated me so I just focussed on Traffic-Splash and the members and that really cheered me up again!

LOADS happened last month, Traffic-Splash has zoomed past the 5,000 member mark, Splash BB produced an absolutely amazing response as well as some superb splashes, members won over $900 of prizes in TheBigSplash referral contest and our EarthDay Referral Contest is going great guns too.

I even have a technical partner coming. Mr X is a programming legend (so he tells me!) and he’ll be starting with us fully in a few weeks time once all exams are over. More to come on that over time and there are LOTS of exciting developments to talk about in the next few weeks.

And guess what, I’m going to start talking about them on here regularly again too. Watch this space…..
